ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
I have been teaching dance for a very long time and the thing I like the most is seeing the progression of a students confidence and skill from their beginning of their dance journey for the years to come.
I live on a property between Williamstown and Kersbrook in SA and we grow our own goats and sheep. I have taught dance and choreographed for shows and flash mobs in Adelaide and Kalgoorlie. H2J first started in North Haven when I had 2 daughters (Hannah and Hayley) so I named my dance school H2J for Hannah Hayley and Joanne. I then had another daughter whilst living in Kalgoorlie and H2J then stood for Hannah Hayley Hermione and Joanne. I am a qualified dance teacher through CSTD, qualified in Acrobatic Arts and Novice & Level 1 AASCF Cheer accreditation. I started dancing at 3 and had a few years break when I joined the Navy at 27. I then started again when Hayley was a few months old, she is now 19. I love having fun at dance but there is also a time for learning and concentrating. I hope that my classes have a good mix of everything.
NSW DIRECTOR, NSW
I am 21 years old and started dancing when I was 2 years old. I started in Kalgoorlie, WA which is and outback mining town like broken hill. I started dancing competitively at the age of 3 and stopped competing at 16 to focus on my year 11 & 12 school studies, however still continued dancing. While competing I did troupes, trios, duos, solos and solo championships.
I have done Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theatre & Acro and my preferred style is Lyrical or Tap. I have done both exams & competitions in all the genres previously mentioned however have only learnt cheer in the past 5 years.
I have my cert II & III in dance and am a fully credited novice, one and two cheer coach. As we develop as a cheer school, I plan to continue my accreditations and dance education so I can be knowledgeable and safe.
I moved to South Australia when I was 10 and danced at many well known and respected schools in Adelaide.
I started student teaching at 8 through to 15 and started teaching my own supervised classes at my mum, Jos’ SA location from 15 onwards.
I came to Broken Hill and worked on stations as a Govie between 2020-23 and fell in love with the Far West Division.
I finally moved to Broken Hill in May of 2023 & starting a third H2J studio location. A dance & cheer school in Broken Hill was not what I had previously planned, however I am so grateful of how far we have come and what I envision for us all to achieve. I already feel so proud of and connected with all of our students at H2J and am so appreciative of this opportunity that feels to have slipped into place.
I look forward to developing and growing with our students in the near future.
